Jon is a Professional Strongman who has been weight training for the past 12 years.  He is involved in high intensity workouts to build power, strength and increase muscle mass.  He  is currently training in preparation for a competition to be held within the next 6 months. 
 

Strength Training Goals:

Jon's goal is to be ranked in the top 10 strongman in the world for a number of years. 
 

Athletic Achievements

Jon usually places in the top 5 in the U.S. Strongman contests and in the middle of the pack internationally.
 

Nutrition:

Jon eats a well balanced diet that includes chicken, 4 lbs. of ground beef a day and "anything else that looks good at the time". 
 

Supplementation:

Jon supplements his diet with lots of protein. 

Hobbies and Special Interests:

Weightlifting/Event Training

Jon' weight trains 5 times a week for
a total of two hours each day. 

Jon focuses on deadlifts, squats, overhead presses and the bench press.  His training also includes sprint stairs and event training on a weekly basis. 

 

Health and Fitness Background


Jon has been weight training for twelve years and competed in Strongman for two years prior to becoming a professional athlete.  His athletic background includes wrestling and playing football and rugby.  Jon was a  non-competitive bodybuilder for many years.  

Jon's advice to beginners who  wish to pursue the sport of strongman is  "Don't quit, you will get better."....   Another great quote from Jon is, "Don't start something unless you intend to finish.."....

Jon enjoys all strongman events and finds the sport very exciting.  His best events include the  "Truck Pull and Overhead Events".   Along with being an extraordinary athlete, Jon holds a degree in THEOLOGY and PHILOSOPHY
