Health and Fitness Background by Nathan Lennie:

I started lifting weights when I was into ski racing quite early in my adolescence. I got into Olympic weight lifting in the 10th grade at age 15 and loved it from the start. My coach was incredible and I learned and improved very quickly. Being a multi sport athlete through high school - volleyball, alpine ski racing, track and field and golf I always found time for weightlifting. Once into University I trained for throwing events - Hammer, Weight Throw and Shot Put. My lifting of course increased both in level of training and in weight over my years there. My best back squat was 277.25kg, front Squat was 214kg, snatch was 107.5kg and clean was 135kg.  I have always had a goal of being an "athletic lifter" and I have managed
to find a good balance between speed, power and athleticism to work toward my goals as a national level hammer thrower.

I had gone from graduating high school at 187lbs to graduating university at 228lbs and being, I could safely say I had the best strength index of any varsity athletes during my time there, but all of it came from hard work, great training partners and wanting to be lifting the most.

Training and throwing takes up much of my time but I did get my CSCS and weightlifting certifications and I enjoy coaching both throwing events and the Olympic lifts. I train athletes from many events, and from different sports as well. I love the coaching just as much because I like to give back all the great information that I was so lucky to have passed on to me.
