Nutrition:

Nicole describes her diet as follows:  "I try to eat 4 to 5 times a day, smaller meals with snacks in between.  The main consumption of my diet is meat (chicken and red meat) and vegetables.  I don't consume a lot of dairy or fast foods.  I try to be strict during the week and on weekends if I crave something, then I will have it.   I do enjoy a few cups of coffee in the morning and a diet soda in the afternoon.  I'm trying to increase my intake of water again."

Supplementation:

None.

Hobbies and Special Interests:

"Olympic style weightlifting is my main passion, but I do enjoy movies, theatre and concerts".

Reason for Participating in the Study:

My friend, James McAlister, was very impressed with the results he saw when he was in the study.  I'm anxious to see and experience the same or similar results.  I believe in the effects of EFA's and would like to see how the oil can help me in reaching my goals as an Olympic Weightlifter.  My overall main goal is to qualify for the American Open within the next two years.  I would need a 142.5 kg total as a 69 kg lifter to do this.

Health and Fitness Background by Nicole McDonald:

I’ve been involved in competitive sports (volleyball, basketball, softball) since the fifth grade, I did not begin working out in the weight room until my early twenties. Around age 24 I decided to do the Body for Life Challenge. That helped me lose about 40 pounds. Shortly after losing this weight I was introduced to Olympic style weightlifting. That was three years ago in November. Olympic style weightlifting has been my only focus since. My goal is to qualify for the American Open in the 69 kg class by age 31.
