HALL OF FAME AWARD

TOM PLATZ
TOM PLATZ is one of the best known bodybuilders in the world. Currently a Professor and Director of Bodybuilding Sciences at ISSA. He holds a Masters in Fitness Science, Bachelors in Science Physiology and Nutrition from Michigan State University, and also a Masters in Business Admin from the University of California. Most fans consider Tom the “Un -crowned Mr Olympia” He retired from professional bodybuilding competitions back in 1987, but more recently in 1995 was awarded Honorary Mr America by the AAU.

His competitive record is amazing, from early Mr Ironman AAU in 1973 and 2nd Teen Mr America 1974, to 1978 World Amatuer Championships IFBB Mr Universe and 2nd 1980 World pro Championships IFBB Mr Universe. At times overshadowed perhaps by his ‘out of this world ‘legs, he didn’t place so well in the Olympia, his best being 3rd in 1981. But for many he always was the winner. A former power lifting champion, he is a true legend in the bodybuilding game.
